Just 300 metres away you’ll find the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust SSSI and Idle Valley Nature Reserve – a true haven for nature lovers and home to hundreds of wild birds and, more recently, even beavers. It’s perfect for walking, rambling, and mountain biking. A friendly local village pub is nearby, and the historic market town of Retford is only a short drive away. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot kingfishers right beneath the lodge.
Nestled within a private lakeside estate, our charming Eco Lodge sits in its own secluded spot overlooking a stunning lake, surrounded by woodland and thriving wildlife. It’s a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Step inside and you’ll feel right at home. The lodge features unique fixtures and fittings that create a warm yet luxurious atmosphere. The open-plan living area and kitchen are fully equipped so you can cook, relax, and unwind at your own pace. Open the doors, breathe in the fresh air, and listen to the soothing sounds of nature – it’s pure bliss.
Outside, enjoy the peaceful surroundings from the fairy-lit balcony, or follow the steps down to the covered waterside deck. It’s the perfect place to enjoy breakfast, feed the fish and ducks, read a book, or simply sit and take in the view. A wonderful spot to slow down, be mindful, and truly connect with nature.

Carp Fishing
For guests who enjoy carp fishing, there is a swim on the main carp lake (Peg 1) located right next to the Eco Lodge. This can be booked through the SWIMBOOKER app.

Please note that this swim is recommended for experienced carp anglers only, as it is quite snaggy with several islands within the swim.
